From Norbit to Oscars Host?

The Host of the 84th Academy Awards goes to....Eddie Murphy?

Yes Murphy is a comedic legend, from Trading Spaces to Coming to America to the Shrek franchise. One of the most recognizable voices in the game and his career as a whole is certainly vindicated. But nevertheless I'm going to bash the Academy's choice of Murphy as their 2012 Oscar host. Murphy's most recent movies include Daddy Day care and Norbit. I feel like he ends up playing every role in most of his newer movies. I'd even argue his one time no-name brother Charlie Murphy (Chappelle's Show) has a stronger pull with the younger generation. JohnLocke and I both believe James Franco was blazed out of his mind during last years show so I can see why the Academy is steering clear of a young name but giving it to a player completely out of the game? My picks...

The Perfect Fit
Brad Pitt. Seasoned, respected, well received, plain and simply a fuckin' boss. Couldn't think of a more perfect fit for the show. Ratings would be through the roof and for those who would say Pitt isn't funny enough for the gig don't know what hosting the Oscars is really about.

The Hot Ticket
Jon Hamm (Mad Men) With Mad Men on hiatus until 2012 Hamm would have plenty of time to prepare for the gig. He's done a great job on SNL in the few times he's hosted and is in the prime of his career.

The Dark Horse
Justin Timberlake. Think about it. He has plenty of hosting experience, winning an Emmy Sunday for his SNL work. He's fresh and young but also seasoned enough to handle the stage. Coming off yet another breakthrough role with last years portrayal of Sean Parker in Best Picture Winner Social Network, his time for the big stage is coming without a doubt.
