GOAT of The Week: Joe Girardi

Ok I get it, Jorge Posada has had a miserable season. From being benched for whining about his spot in the order, to batting in the low .200's, and most recently to losing his playing time to stud prospect Jesus Montero. But would it have been so bad to let Posada throw the shin pads on one last time and catch Mariano's record breaking 602nd save. I mean come on Joe your facing a minor league squad in the Twins, up 2 runs, with the most dominant closer in history on the mound. Mariano woulndn't have blown that save if Chuck Knoblach was behind the dish. Posada has caught more of Mariano saves than any other Yankee catcher by light years. Every great original Torre Yankee seems to have had their moment, Pettite winning the 09 WS, Jeter's 3000th hit, MO breaking the saves record, Posada missing the post season roster? Shame on you Girardi for not letting Georgie share some of the spotlight, would have been a great moment to see Posada embrace MO at the mound after the record breaker.
