A Mad Modern Charlie Sheen Type of Night

  • Back in a New York Minute and its never felt so good. Stay tuned for some memorable GL footage from the summer hiatus, and make sure to follow us up on twitter @The_Green_Line for daily updates.
The 63rd Prime Time Emmy Awards
  • While most of America watched 'The Dream Team' led by the oh so Dreamy Mike Vick Kafka, The 63rd Annual Prime Time Emmy awards took place in Lady LA last night. I'm fully aware covering the Emmys over the game for my first post back puts my sexuality firmly in question so i won't get into Red Carpet politics (although whats more enticing to a chick then a guy who knows his fair share of celebrity gossip).
The Winners
  • ABC's Modern Family absolutely dominated the night, ending HBO's 8 year reign as top award getter. No surprises here, in its second season and with its third premiering in a few days Christopher Lloyd's sitcom continues to be one of TV's most well received. Mad Men AMC's most popular show fared well too, taking home the best drama award beating out HBO's sexier nominees "Game of Thrones" and "Boardwalk Empire".
The Losers

HBO. HBO. HBO.

The Cinderella
  • The real surprise of the night hands down goes to Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) stealing the Best Actor in a Drama award. Chandler went head to head with past Best Actor winners and perennial favorites John Hamm (Mad Men) and Michael C Hall (Dexter).
Sheen brings down the house...again
  • The real highlight of the night however went to the spotlight stealer himself Charlie Sheen and his genuine(?), heartfelt(?) message to his former Two and a Half Men Team. Sheen wished the cast and crew good luck with their new direction. Two and Half Men premieres tomorrow night with pretty boy Ashton Kutcher taking Sheen's role. Hard to tell if it was another case of Sheen craving attention or actual sincerity; either way Sheen received a nice applause from the celebrity filled crowd and tomorrow nights premiere will be intriguing to say the least. I'm not sold on Kutcher but I wouldn't bet against Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre, Lorre's Big Bang Theory also killed it taking home several awards including best actor. If anyone can make it work its this comedic mind, stay tuned.
